The Husqvarna motorcycles are manufactured by the Swedish company Husqvarna Motorcycles GmbH founded in 1903. It produces both street and sport models. The company belongs to the Austrian motorcycle and sports car manufacturer KTM AG. Today, the assembly is carried out in Austria, in Mattighofen.

Establishment of the brand

Before the brand started to produce motorcycles in 1903, it created a motorized bicycle. At first, the company equipped its vehicles with engines produced by ООН, NSU, Moto Sache and Moto Rêve. In 1919, the first in-house power unit was designed. A year later, the company’s own engine factory was established.

Since the 1930s, the brand’s bikes have been demonstrating great results in competitions. In the 60s and 70s, the company’s team won many prestigious prizes in motocross championships.

In 1955, the legendary off-road Husqvarna motorcycles called Silverpilen appeared. They only weighed 75 kg and were equipped with a telescopic fork and hydraulic shock absorbers. This design enabled the motorcycles to easily ride cross-country with the riders feeling almost no shocks.

• High-performance engines. For example, the 701 Supermoto model was equipped with a light single-cylinder LC4 engine made by KTM; its power was 74 hp, displacement – 0.693 l, torque – 71 Nm at 6,750 rpm.

• The Keihin electronic fuel injection system. The throttle valve is efficiently controlled due to the analysis of operation of many of the vehicle systems.
• Fuel tank built into the polyamide rear subframe. This solution allows to reduce the weight of the bike and to balance the load applied to the front and rear wheels.
• CNC-machined, anodized fork braces. These are reliable but light front suspension components that facilitate handling the vehicle.
