The Kawasaki motorcycles have been manufactured by the Motorcycle & Engine company since 1962. It is a subsidiary of the large Japanese corporation Kawasaki Heavy Industries, with the history dating back to 1878. The post-World War II period was very difficult for the company which had been a leader in the heavy industry before the war. In order to save the firm that used to be successful, the company management decided to start the production of small engines for bicycles. Some time later, the company began to manufacture scooters and then – motorcycles.

A lot of achievements belong to Kawasaki motorcycles. For example, the Ninja GPZ900R model that accelerates up to 243 km/h turned out to be the fastest mass-produced motorcycle in 1984 and the ZX-12R Ninja with a 178 hp engine was the most powerful mass-production bike in the world until 2006. Its top speed of 300 km/h was unbeatable in its time as well.

• Quick Shifter. This system allows shifting gears with the throttle fully open without operating the clutch, therefore, it helps to achieve the maximum acceleration on a track.
• ERGO-FIT. It allows placing the motorcycle handlebars and footpegs according to the individual requirements of a rider to ensure the ideal position for them.
