Suzuki motorcycles have been manufactured by the Japanese company Suzuki Jidosha Kogyo (SJK) since 1953. Later the name of the company was changed to the Suzuki Motor Corporation. Apart from sport, off-road and street motorbikes, the company makes scooters, all-terrain vehicles, passenger cars, outboard engines and many other things. The production sites are located in 23 world countries. The USA, Spain, Japan, India and China are among them.
Historical highlights of the brand
The history of the brand started with the production of a loom equipped with a foot pedal in 1909. In 1937, the company produced several passenger cars that never entered mass production. When World War II broke out, the company resumed manufacturing looms, which made the major share of its production even after the war ended. In 1952, the head of the company Michio Suzuki noticed the society’s demand in affordable means of transportation and designed a motorised bicycle called Power Free. A year later, another two-wheeled vehicle called Diamond Free, appeared; it was equipped with a two-stroke 60 cc, 2 hp engine. The same year, in 1953, it was the first one to come to the finish line in the Mount Fuji Hill Climb and later it brought many victories to its sportsmen. For example, the company team was awarded manufacturer’s cup in the Motocross Grand Prix 500 six times and won the World Road Race Grand Prix 500 seven times.
The firm is famous for a great number of revolutionary solutions. For example, among the Suzuki motorcycles, there is the model T20 built in 1966–1968; it was equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, quite unusual for bikes at that time. The GT750, which appeared in 1971, became the first liquid-cooled two-wheeler manufactured in Japan. The RE5, launched in 1974, was the first bike in Japan fitted with a Wankel rotary engine. It was characterised by very low vibration even at 3,500 rpm. The GSX-R bike made in 1984 combined the technologies used for the production of the most powerful racing models. In particular, it had an aluminium frame, twin discs with four-pot callipers, an air-and-oil-cooled engine.

- Prominent design. In particular, the Boulevard motorcycles feature a large number of chromed elements in 1970s style.
Technical features

- Broad Power System. Ensures high engine performance within any rpm range.
- Composite Electrochemical Material. An original coating made from nickel, silicon and carbides. It is applied to the engine cylinders, prevents scratching and improves heat transfer.
