Motorcycle parts catalogue for YAMAHA

The Yamaha motorcycles have been produced by Yamaha Motor Co, Ltd. since 1955. Yamaha Corporation founded in 1887 is its largest shareholder. Apart from sport and street motorbikes, they produce personal watercraft, snowmobiles, boats. More than 20 production sites of the company are located all over the world: in the USA, Japan, India and other countries. The company’s motorcycle sales are the second largest in the world.
Historical highlights of the brand
Registered in 1887, initially, the company was called Nippon Gakki Co., Ltd.; it produced musical instruments and their parts. In the 1920s, the production of aircraft propellers started. From the beginning of World War II and until 1954, the company produced military equipment. In 1955, the division responsible for the production of motorcycles was formed. The same year, the YA-1 model, which was actually a copy of the German motorcycle DKW RT125, appeared on the market. 12 years later, the DT-1 was introduced to the public; it was the first dual-sport bike intended both for riding on paved streets and off-road.
The manufacturer improved the engines all the time. For example, in 1971 the two-stroke power unit was fitted with reed valves which allowed for more efficient fuel-air mixture intake. In 1973, the XS500 was presented; it was the first mass production Yamaha motorcycle equipped with a four-valve engine. It featured significant power output with low vibration. In 1984, they started to equip motorcycles with five-valve engines.
The brand became famous due to numerous victories in various races including 39 world championships. In 1963, the Yamaha motorcycles helped the sportsmen to win in the Belgium GP in the category of 0.25 l motorcycles. In 1979, the XT500 dominated the Paris-Dakar Rally.

- Excellent performance. For example, the V-max 1700 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 sec and its top speed is 221 km/h.
- Cutting-edge technologies. In particular, the racing bike YZF-R6 as early as in 1999 had an Electronic Control Module (ECM) controlling the throttle, engine torque and chassis.
Technical features
- Aluminium Deltabox frame. It is lightweight but features high torsional rigidity, on the other hand. It is characterised by reliability allows for better vehicle handling.
- Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS). It monitors the position of the front wheel. It increases the level of safety when accelerating and manoeuvring.
- Quick Shift System (QSS). It operates without a clutch, therefore, the acceleration time of the vehicle is reduced.
- Engines with reversed cylinder heads. Due to shorter intake and exhaust channels, it is possible to reach much higher performance. The pistons have a carbon coating, which ensures a low friction coefficient.
