LIFAN motorcycle parts

The Lifan motorcycles have been manufactured by the Chinese company Lifan Industry Group Co. Ltd since 1992. Apart from off-road and street bikes, the firm offers scooters, 4-wheelers, passenger and commercial vehicles, engines. The production sites are located in China. In 2004, the company was ranked first in the domestic market of motorcycles. Today, it is the leader among Chinese companies exporting compact cars.

Establishment of the brand

The company was set up as a motorcycle repair shop in 1992 and was initially called Chongqing Hongda Auto Fittings Research Centre. It got its present-day name in 1997.

The first motorcycle, the TMS 200 produced in the early 1990s, was characterised by a compact size just as many of its successors. For equipping its vehicles with in-house engines, the company founded a subsidiary named Chongqing Lifan Power. In 2005, the first passenger cars entered the production.

In 2014, the company signed a contract with the Italian motorcycle manufacturer MB Augusta. Its specialists took part in designing the Chinese brand’s products. In 2016, over 1.3 million Lifan motorcycles were sold in more than 150 countries.

• Small size. Light weight combined with the compact size enables the brand’s motorcycles to manoeuvre easily in urban areas.

Technical features

• Powerful water-cooled single-cylinder engines. For example, a 0.2 l engine has the power of 17 hp which become available at 6,500 rpm.
• Robust frame. It protects a motorcyclist from touching heated parts of the vehicle while manoeuvring, and also prevents the engine from getting damaged in case the bike falls.
• Reliable hydraulic disc brakes. The diameter of the brake discs fitted onto the LF250-D model is 320 mm for the front one and 280 mm for the rear one. Besides, they are made of a durable metal used in aircraft engineering.
