The Victory motorcycles were produced by the same-name American company from 1997 until 2017. It was a subsidiary of the Polaris Industries corporation known as a manufacturer of various electric vehicles. Heavy, “Harley-Davidson-style” motorcycles were manufactured under the Victory brand. The company offered touring and sport models, cruisers. The assembly was carried out at the plant in Spirit Lake, Iowa, the USA.
Establishment of the brand
The Polaris Industries engineers started designing motorcycles in the early 1990s. The first Victory motorcycle, the V92C, was created in 1997 and was built almost completely from American components. The exception were the brake mechanisms made by an Italian manufacturer, and the electronic dual fuel injection system made by a British brand. That vehicle was equipped with a 55 hp V-engine with the displacement of 1.5 l.
In 2000, the brand presented the Victory motorcycles called the V92SC SportCruiser characterised by a high clearance, and four years later – the Kingpin. The feature of the latter was an improved suspension which ensured the smooth ride. In 2014, the Gunner bike made in the bobber style was introduced to the public. It had short fairings for reducing the weight, and occupied the leading position in its class in the market.

Advantages of the Victory motorcycles
- Stylish design. For instance, the appearance of the V92C model had the features of the classic vehicles of the first half of the XX century, like a great number of chrome elements.
- Impressive speed characteristics. For example, the Kingpin bike beat the USA record in 2009: its speed during the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials reached 266.8 kph.
- Powerful engines. In particular, the Cross Country and Cross Roads motorcycles made in the 2000s were equipped with 92 hp power units with the torque of 148 Nm.
Technical features
- Four-stroke Freedom V-twin engines. Their cylinders were arranged at 50°. The displacement could reach 1.74 l. These engines produced a distinctive sound.
- Dunlop tyres. The widest tyre of those intended for mass production two-wheelers was specially designed for the Hammer bike. It was fitted onto the rear wheel to improve stability.
- Reliable belt drive. The torque was transferred with the help of the Gates carbon belt. The load exerted on it was reduced due to the use of larger pulleys, which meant a longer service life.
